Rental Application Tips from Sara Kaye

Gather all your application materials now, *before* you find the place you want. Proof of income, photo IDs, proof of funds, and pet profiles (if applicable). Organize them in a nice PDF with labels so it’s ready to go and easy to read. Everyone over the age of 18 will need to do this for themselves.

Every place will make you submit a “rental application” — this is a credit check and will cost between $20-$40. If you’re applying to multiple places, ask if you can include a previous application/credit check to avoid the fee. It doesn’t always work but sometimes it does.

Please feel free to reach out to directly: Sara.kaye@compass.com
